Henry Speechly bouwde in 1866 een nieuw mechanisch sleepladen-orgel voor de Church of Saint Lawrence in Alton (Hampshire). Het is in 1966 omgebouwd door Wood, Wordsworth & Co Ltd. Hierbij is een nieuwe elektrische tractuur aangelegd en werd er een vrijstaande speeltafel geplaatst. Ook werd het pedaalklavier vervangen door een nieuw radiaal concaaf pedaalklavier. In 1993 is het orgel gerestaureerd door Martin K. Cross. Daarbij werden de manualen vervangen en nieuwe speelhulpen geplaatst.
