In 1887 bouwde T.C. Lewis een nieuw orgel voor de Royal Mining, Engineering and Industrial Exhibition in Newcastle upon Tyne. Een jaar later werd het in de Church of Saint George in Jesmond, een wijk van Newcastle upon Tyne geplaatst. het had 3 manualen en pedaal. In 1902 plaatste J.J. Binns uit Leeds een nieuw 4 manuaals kegelladen-orgel met pneumatische toetstractuur en elektro-pneumatische registertractuur in de kerk. Men zegt dat het Lewis-orgel daarvoor als basis gebruikt is, maar dat is niet zeker. In 2009 heeft John Lightbown al het leer vervangen. De grootste pijpen van het orgel zijn gekropt en het pedaalklavier is radiaal concaaf.
