Norman & Beard bouwde in 1904 een nieuw orgel voor de Church of Saint Cuthbert with Saint Mary in Carlisle (Cumbria) UK. John Compton bouwde het instrument in 1933 geheel om waarbij het Choir in een aparte kas aan de andere zijde van het koor van de kerk werd geplaatst. Het pijpwerk daarvan staat achter een rooster en is niet zichtbaar vanuit de kerk. Het kegelladen-orgel heeft elektro-pneumatische tractuur, 39 stemmen, 3 manualen en een vrij pedaal. Het pedaalklavier is radiaal concaaf. De stemmingstemperatuur is evenredig zwevend.
